Wedding Trends We Love For 2024
As leading wedding specialists, we are recognised for our artistry in curating weddings which are innovative, creative and which reflect your unique personality as a couple. Our role includes keeping a close eye on fashionable trends alongside an ongoing responsibility to consider sustainable and ‘greener’ options wherever possible.
We are always excited to share new ideas and ever evolving trends with our clients. From cake designs and tablescaping, to wedding dress styles and décor ideas. Here are a few of the highlights of the upcoming trends for 2024.
Victorian Wedding Cakes
A centrepiece of the wedding celebration for centuries, wedding cakes literally do come in all shapes and sizes, not to mention colours and flavours. The fashionable trend to revert back to a somewhat kitsch and highly decorative tiered cake is not for everyone, but taking influence from a retro era can result in a showstopping design almost too pretty to eat. Whether it’s a Camerino single tier or a sky-high tiered design, nothing is too much when it comes to intricate piping and pastel perfection. Think ruffles, swirls and sparkles – on this occasion ‘more’ really does means more.
Delicate Centrepieces
With sustainability in mind, many are embracing the subtle move towards more delicate and minimal centrepieces. The beauty and elegance of these artistic displays is a step away from more flamboyant arrangements and give a light and airy decorative feel to any table setting. Blending style with sustainability gets a thumbs up from us.
Ceremonial Arches
A decorative ceremonial arch, beneath which vows may be exchanged, creates a magical focal point not to mention the most memorable image for your wedding album. From dramatic iron sculpted archways to a flourish of fresh flowers, there is no limit to the styles of magnificent archways you can choose to create the frame for your most treasured portrait.
Wow Moments
What constitutes a ‘wow’ moment will be very different for every client. For some it will be theatrical production, explosive entertainment, even fireworks. For others it will be the simplicity and elegance of a champagne fountain or the ‘live’ creation of a traditional Italian wedding cake (“MilleFoglie”). These special touches can be woven into the tapestry of your final wedding plan creating memories never forgotten for you and your guests.
Statement Sleeves
We share every bride’s excitement when it comes to the selection and big reveal of ‘The Dress’. Over the years we have enjoyed the yo-yo trends of ever-changing necklines, the length of hemlines, glamorous trains and simple silk slips. 2024 is the year of the statement sleeve. We are talking the bigger the better. From retro puffed organza to an abundance of lace, many leading designers are fully on-board with this current trend. This romantic draped chiffon sleeve with elegant cuff is definitely one of our favourites.
Bows
From the classic adornment on dresses and hair accessories, to accents on candles and table settings, the prominence of the bow is a growing trend. Associated with style and sophistication, this versatile decorative touch is a simple way to incorporate a classic look into your décor and table settings without too much fuss or cost.
Pearls
If you think these precious gems are mostly worn around the neck, then think again. Beautiful white and cream pearls (or at least synthetically produced pearl-like gems) are now used in a multitude of innovative ways. The colour and purity associated with pearls add a touch of natural beauty whether incorporated into a flower arrangement, an intricate beading on a dress or perhaps a stylish addition to an invitation card. We love cleverly using them in table dressings, combined with fresh fruit to create a very natural but sophisticated elegance to a simple table design.
Floral Prints
Whilst the idea of incorporating floral design into wedding design is by no means new, flamboyant floral prints are definitely having their moment. We are seeing a departure from simple table linens to elegant florals producing an explosion of colour of pretty pastels or a quintessential ‘William Morris’ feel. The result is a colourful and inspired canvas for simple table settings and centre pieces, a refreshing reverse from the norm.
Whilst it is not necessary to follow trends, it is fun to take inspiration from the ever-evolving possibilities when curating your special day. We are here to guide you through every step of your planning journey making sure you have plenty of fun along the way.
